Wight Tri host a number of events throughout the year. In winter we hold a nominated based Duathlon series with a choice of distances to suit all abilities. The longest distance usually involves two runs of around 3-4 miles with a bike section around 15-20 miles. Shorter distances are usually 1.5-2.5 miles with the bike around 8-10 miles.

The Spring Triathlon in April is a conventional, fastest wins Tri. Pool based, the event will usually be sprint distance. 400m swim, 20k bike finishing off with a 5k run (or something thereabouts)

In summer we hold club Splash and dash races. These are also nominated based events, usually with us all racing the same distances/routes. They are generally short, but very intense. Running after a sea swim is not as easy as it sounds, especially if you are prone to a bit of dizziness coming out the water! Swims are between 400m and  1000m with the runs between 2-3 miles ish’

The Autumn Tri in September is normally a sea swim based nominated event, although we all do the same distance and bike/run routes. These are normally sprint based events with a swim between 400m-750m, bike around 20k and a 5k run. This doubles up as the Club Championship too.

We have another competition for Wight Tri Cross Country Champion. This is raced out during the Ryde Harriers Handicap event where the first Wight Tri member across the line wins the trophy and champion title! (all members, even if you are running for a running club)

Events are open to club members only. You can join Wight Tri on race day if you like and this costs £20 (inc race fee). The Du’s and Tris are £5 to enter and the Splash and Dashes are free.
