St Helens Splash and Dash

Last week Wight Tri held the 4th event of the summer Splash and Dash series – this event organised by Emma and Steve Goodier at The Duver, St Helen’s, a new location for us.
Starting with a 600m swim from the harbour end of The Duver towards the Old Church green, followed by a 3.4km run taking in the hill towards St Helen’s green and crossing the causeway back to the Duver.

The nominated event was very closely contested with first place won by Mary Norman, who was 14 seconds outside her nominated time of 32mins. 2nd was Liz Dunlop in 31.45, 15 secs inside her time. Stuart Dyer took 3rd,  18 seconds outside in 26.03.
Stuart was also first overall – followed by Nick Kenny (27.19) and Sean Williams (27.40) in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Jan Fletcher was the fastest woman in 30.55.
New member Richard Bulmer posted the fasted swim of 11.19 with Sean Williams the fastest run of 12.27.
The next and final event of the series is the Totland Splash and Dash on 19th August at 6.00pm.
